Michelin Challenge Design 2006 - concepts for the California market

MSP concept combines mucle-sportcars, pick-ups and jeeps. This is because in California driving a (huge) pick-up or a sportcar is the trend nowadays. MSP is similar and different simultaneously: it is like a real american musclecar when it is down (agressive front, wing at the back), but when it is lifted up, it looks and works like a pick-up offroader (step-up, roller-bar). The drive is provided by a fuel-cell engine, which electric power is used in the all wheel built-in electromagnetic-levitation engines. The dampers work with electromagnetic force also, so the strengthness and the heigth can be adjusted. This way MSP can be lifted up and even 50cm clearance can be reached.

MSP needs special tyres, because of the huge - 35" in diameter - wheels and becuse of a special feature: when the car is down, the tyres are like normal tyres, but when it is lifted, some parts of the wheels are pushed out, so the tyres get ribbed for the best climbing-power offroad.

This unique flavour of MSP is reinforced by the see-through parts of the bonnet and of the cargo-bay, where the dampers can be seen.
