Gaia hungarian design contest 2004 - re-design of an existing motorbike

Finalist - finished 3rd place

Plant 1 Plant 2 Plant 3 Plant 4

In the contest the main aim was to create a bodywork onto the existing given dimensions of the chassis and other parts of the motorbike which is more attractive to the young people.

The design is in minimalist-style, following the design of the big naked bikes which are very popular for their simplicity. So there is a small head panel to cover the counters and to create a small windscreen. This connects the shape of the headlight to the shape of the control panel.

The fuel tank is unmodified, and also the seat. Beneath the tank there is no bodypanel, only beneath the seat. This part is to create a more lighter look for the chassis which runs behind the panel and so the panel covers and protects it.

The tail part contiues from the back edge of the seat and gets a bit more smooth for the tail of the bike where it houses the circular taillight.

With these simple bodypanels and the trendy colour-sceme the motorbike gets a new look and so with minimal modifications it can be much more successfull among young people.
